This was my second attempt at building a cardboard house, and this time I wanted to create a two-story design. My original plan was to add stairs, a balcony, and some cool structural details.
However, while gluing the pieces together, I realized that I had positioned the upper floor in the wrong direction.
At that point, I had to decide whether to keep going or stop the project. Although the design could probably have been adjusted, I chose not to continue and decided to call it a day.
As you can see in the images, the house still has two floors, but the upper floor is facing the wrong way. I may revisit the idea and build an improved version in a future project.

Step by step
Build process
Prepare and cutting the cardboard
Start by preparing your cardboard and cutting each piece according to the measurements provided in the video. For the exact dimensions, cutting guide, and step-by-step instructions, be sure to watch the video before you begin.
Glue the pieces together!
In this step, begin gluing the cardboard pieces together to bring your house to life. Take your time and make sure each part is securely attached.
If you plan to upgrade the design later by adding stairs, a balcony, or other details, be careful when positioning the upper floor.
In the video, I accidentally glued the top floor the wrong way around, so make sure to rotate it and attach it in the opposite direction.
What I would change
For this project, I used very thick cardboard from an old TV box. Because the material was so dense and difficult to cut, some of the edges, corners, and details did not turn out as clean as I had hoped.
Next time, I would choose a softer, thinner cardboard, especially for a detailed model like this. A lighter material would be much easier to cut and would create a cleaner, more precise final result.
Mistake
I would not use thick cardboard to save money! I would buy some appropriate ones and make a better modeling 🙂
Final result
Overall, I’m quite happy with the final result. The cardboard house looks good, and I really enjoyed the process of building it.
As I mentioned earlier, the only issue is that some of the corners are not as clean or precise as I would have liked because the cardboard was too thick. Despite that, creating this model was a fun and rewarding experience.
