Hello — I’m the person behind NabiMakes.
Hi! I’m Nabi! The person who is behind NabiMakes! This is a real image of me! But it has been enhanced a bit with AI and has a bit of a cartoonish style!
There’s no team and no warehouse. It’s one bench, a small lathe, a 3D printer that earns its keep, and a slowly growing pile of useful offcuts. If a project here looks calm and finished, it is usually because the messy version came first — and that version belongs in the write-up too.
Useful objects, built to be used.
Original machines, model kits taken further than the box intends, work in wood and metal, small electronics, and 3D-printed parts that solve a real problem. The common thread is not a material — it is that each thing is meant to be picked up, run, and kept.
The process is the point, nothing else!
A finished photograph teaches you almost nothing. The decisions, the wrong turns, and the fix that finally worked are the useful part, so that is what gets written down. If one note saves you the weekend it cost me, it has done its job.
Working principles
01 — Make it work, then make it nice
Function first. A clean finish on a thing that does not run is just decoration.
02 — Show the mistakes
The wrong turns are often the most useful part of a build. They stay in.
03 — Use real materials
Wood, brass, and steel over filler and paint wherever the material matters. It ages better.
04 — Explain it simply
If I cannot describe a step clearly, I probably do not understand it well enough yet.
