Wire Spool Holder Generator

About Wire Spool Holder Generator

Wire Spool Holder Generator makes a caddy or a pair of brackets for the spools you own: hook-up wire, solder and tape, each bay sized from your spool's flange, width and bore. The cradles fit your measured rod, a dowel or a threaded rod, with your printer's fit; adaptors centre spools with a large bore; and a comb in front holds every wire's end so nothing unwinds. It prints with no supports, splits between bays when it is longer than your bed, and tells you how long to cut the rod.

Frequently asked questions

Which rod should I use?
A wooden dowel or a threaded rod that passes every spool's bore. Dowels vary by about 0.4 mm, so measure yours and type what it measures: the cradles take it with your printer's fit.
What are the adaptors for?
Hook-up wire spools often have a bore much larger than the rod, so they wobble. An adaptor is a ring that fills the bore down to the rod; the tool adds a pair, one for each end of the bore, for each spool that needs them, in the same download.
How does the comb hold the wire?
Each bay has a slot in a rail in front, sized from your wire's outside diameter, that narrows to a throat. Push the wire's end through the throat and it stays until you pull it.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Wire Spool Holder Generator runs in the browser, and the geometry is built on your computer. It is free; you need a free NabiMakes account to download the files.
