Drill Bit Index Generator

About Drill Bit Index Generator

Drill Bit Index Generator makes a drill index for the set you own: metric 1 to 13 mm, the 0.1 mm set, fractional 1/16 to 1/2 inch, number #1 to #60, letter A to Z, a range of any of them, or your own list. Each hole is the bit plus your printer's measured hole offset and the fit you choose, so bits stay when you tip it, and each has its size raised in front of it. Holes deepen with the bit, rows wrap to your bed, and the index stands on the bench, screws to the wall or sits in a Gridfinity grid.

Frequently asked questions

How tight are the holes?
Each hole is the bit plus your printer's measured hole offset: Snug holds the bit when you tip the index, Easy lets it drop in. Before a Fit Test, holes grow by 0.25 mm, which most printers need; the fit comb fine-tunes small and large bits.
Why are the holes different depths?
Each is 3 times its size plus 6 mm deep, from 10 to 25 mm, so small bits stand proud enough to grab and large ones sit deep. The top is flat, so the raised labels need one filament change.
Can I hang it on the wall?
Yes: on screws or keyholes, or on a 45° French cleat, on a back plate that prints with the index. Holes can lean back up to 20°. A 30° cleat and SKÅDIS come later.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Drill Bit Index Generator runs in the browser, and the geometry is built on your computer. It is free; you need a free NabiMakes account to download the files.
